Day 5 saw our students busy at work in the multinational committees.
After the long hours of research in their respective countries and schools,
and the presentation of their Rights and Responsibilities here in the General
Assembly, students now tackled the challenging job of seeking solutions
to the questions they had raised. The multinational committees dealing
with each of the six areas worked in separate "Hearing Rooms" in the State
Capitol Building.

After working from 08:00 until 14:00 in the multinational committee,
the students and teachers had a chance for a little sight-seeing, enjoying
a river boat cruise on the Portland Spirit.

The students and teachers, after a short shopping spree in an American mall, enjoyed a dinner outside in the patio of the Portland World Trade Center. They then went to see a movie on "The Living Sea" at the Omnimax theater. Students and teachers arrived back at Western Oregon University late at night and were ready for a good night's sleep before the next day of work in the multinational committees where they would try to finishing discussing and voting upon solutions to the area they are studying, which will then be presented to the General Assembly.
